SALMON BROTHERS
BACKGROUND
Salmon Brothers is a duo band comprising brilliant and well-known musicians:

* Nick Weaver {co-founder, composer and bassist of Deep Sea Arcade, bassist/guitarist with The Tambourine Girls, Watussi, The Strides and more}

* Nicholas Meredith {drummer/percussionist The Church, Meg Mac, Deep Sea Arcade, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, ACO, Ngaiire etc}

The Salmon Brothers’ songs they wrote and recorded from 2019 to 2021 were being mixed for release when Nick Weaver was suddenly diagnosed with a rare form of terminal bowel cancer. As with Nick’s brilliant and successful posthumous solo album“Won’t Let Go” a team of us got together to finish some loose ends of Salmon Brothers ten songs, ensuring they were mixed {Richie Belkner} and mastered {Michael Lynch} to the highest standard.

The culmination of this complex and highly emotional Salmon Brothers project is a glorious romp of an album comprising nine tracks {ten songs will stream} entitled “More To Love”.
“ More To Love” is an upbeat big band sound, fun and cheeky, with 70s disco influences. There are satirical undertones in the vocals and lyrics by Nick Weaver. The music they jointly composed was delightfully liberating for them, an escape from the strictures of band membership and constant overseas and interstate travel. Like-minded and sparking off each other, the songs just tumbled out, one after the other, right up to Nick’s passing in April 2021.
